In this exciting and action-packed club, young fencers will dive into the thrilling world of swordplay, learning the basics in a safe and supportive environment. They’ll sharpen their coordination, focus, and teamwork skills through fun exercises, friendly duels, and creative challenges. With plenty of opportunities for playful competition and skill-building activities, your students will master the art of one of the first Olympic sports. LEARNING GOALS Goal one Learn the rules of fencing, including how scoring works, what fouls are, and the importance of safety and etiquette. Goal two Stand in the en-garde position and practise moving forward and backward to control distance. Goal three Perform thrusts and lunges to hit different target areas with accuracy. Goal four Use parries like quarte and sixte to block attacks during friendly sparring. Goal five Explore feints and movements to trick and mislead your opponents. Goal six Practise hand-eye coordination and point control with your sword for precision.
